The Game : Troopers vs. Bushrangers.
The Bushrangers – the outlaws, those who took up ‘Robbery Under Arms’ as a way of life.
The Troopers – the men of the law, those who tracked & captured those who didn’t abide.
Bushrangers must steal an item from the Troopers, run into the bush, & hide.
Troopers must track them down & capture them all in the allotted time to win the game.
An Australian Outback version of the modern game of Spotlight.

It was the Gilbert Boys vs. the Hamer Sons.
Gilberts the Troopers, Hamers the Bushrangers.
The game begun & the bushrangers snatched the item & fled into the bush,
the troopers hot on their trail.
When the timer ran out the Troopers had captured them, all but One.
The game was over & the Hamer sons had won,
but the Gilbert boys refused to admit defeat.

The town went into a panic when the Hamers didn’t come home that night.
It took 4 days to find them.
When they did it shook the small community to its core.
The boys had been tortured, beaten, stabbed, & bludgeoned to death,
strung up, naked, hanging by the neck at the far end of the property.
All but One.

The Gilbert boys were taken in for questioning,
but with no witnesses or no one to testify they walked free.
But everyone knew what they had done.

3 Brothers. 3 Troopers.
Bound in the blood of the innocent.
Upholding the firm hand of the law.
To this day no one knows what happened to the lost Hamer son –
He simply disappeared.

Leaden Hearts Blood Brother Convict Cocktail Collection was inspired by the infamous life of Frederick Gilbert, Leslie Gilbert, & Reginald Gilbert.

Over time they came to forget the events of that night, their parents telling them any memory was nothing more than a dream – a nightmare –
one that left a family with 2 dead sons & one that is still classified as Missing today.

There are 2 possible endings:
The missing Hamer son was too afraid to come out of hiding, a bushranger forever on the run in the fear that the young Gilbert Troopers would still uphold the law from all those years ago. Or the Gilbert boys did find him that night, & as punishment for his crimes made sure that he would never be found, an example had to be made.
You can’t outrun the Law.
